Oh Mon Dieu!!!

Paris Fashion Week has officially come to an end, and I have never fallen in love so many times in one week! With so many incredible collections to look forward to, it can be overwhelming trying to decide which signature look to go for in 2010. Here are my picks of the trends and the designers who pulled them off the best.

Pretty In Pink

Get ready to back comb and hit the town with the girls, with the long awaited return on flirtatious pinks, romantic rose, and everything else in between.

One designer who worked the trend to perfection was Emanuel Ungaro

Ethereal Elegance

Whether it was floating chiffon or ruffled organza spring/summer 2010 is all about ethereal elegance. Toughen up with leather or denim and thigh high boots, or tights

Henry Holland once said “Get your freak on, with Giles Deacon” and that was certainly the case with one hot number after the other at his premiere Paris Fashion Week. This is my favourite trend of all, oddly loving the hair.

Personal Shopper Choice:French Chic

Why do French women look so chic? They have a better choice of clothes is a good starting point. In the UK we have lots of high street “tat”, often great styles but in cheap frankly horrible fabrics.

Or we have very very expensive designer fashion, c £1000+ for a great dress in great fabric. There is very little in between.

I have long been a fan of Galerie Lafayette in Paris for this reason, and now some of these fantastic clothes are here…..

Stylish, affordable, wearable and…. in great fabrics. The UK high street could revitalise by learning from the French. No more polyester, badly cut, oversized waists, cheap shiny see through fabrics, buttons that fall off, shoes that break, dresses that crease even hanging in the shop. There is no pleasure in buying and wearing this stuff. So dont buy it.

10 ANNE FONTAINE

Anne Fontaine

Buy French from cutting edge chic to the classic perfect white shirts of Anne Fontaine. Vote against “tat”.

I have decided that I want to live in the South of France, I love the food, weather, people and the clothes. In the meantime boycott  all tat and buy French!!
