Kate Middleton’s Style : Hit or Miss?

by Gabrielle on August 16, 2011

As The Leading London Personal Shopper  I frequently comment in the press on Celebrity Style. Kate Middleton does not feel she needs a stylist so what is the verdict on Kate Middleton’s style chic or cheap?

 Kate Middleton  Dress

This dress is frankly cheap. It is being worn to a major black tie event and is inappropriate for the then fiance of the future King of England. it would work for a secretary at a Company do.   The embellishment is too heavy, the jacket is too big and overall does not work.

Kate Middleton Street Fashion

Kate Middleton Fashion

This is another dreadful outfit. The grey comfy cardi, baggy enough to cover a stomach and hips of a heavier woman looks old fashioned and makes her look much older than her years. This is a beautiful woman in the prime of life.

Kate Middleton Zara dress

This is yet another cheap and frankly nasty outfit. This dress from Zara does not fit, flatter and the A line shape and wide sleeves serve to make her look fatter and older than she is. No stylist would choose this for someone in the public eye. Kate Middleton is representing the UK and needs to seriously up her game. Using a Personal Shopper or Personal Stylist is a must for anyone regularly photographed.

Kate Middleton Suit

Kate Middleton Hobbs Suit

This is Kate Middleton in a high street Hobbs suit. Hobbs has a much older target consumer group i.e. 35-55 Kate is 27. Thus the effect is dull, makes her look older and has zero wow factor or sex appeal.

This honestly is the dreary sisters. Bear in mind that both are mid to late twenties. These print “safe” dresses are more appropriate for women 30 years older. Pippa Middleton can and should look amazing.

There are great clothes to be had on the high street but she needs to up her spend a bit and choose clothes that are classic with a twist. Kate Middleton’s’ style is naturally classic but she can and should do better. Hire a stylist buy less spend a bit more look chic. This is how she does style well.

Summer Fashion :What to Wear Now

Alice and Olivia

There are so many gorgeous clothes in the shops right now it is hard to choose my favourites.

As The Leading London Personal Shopper I have so many different clients with
differing shapes. Here I am going to share some style tips with you. Alice and
Olivia are fast becoming one of my favourite designers and it is not hard to
see why with this stunning dress. Great colour and fantastically flattering too.
It will flatter anyone with a tummy and will
look amazing on tall ladies and it reasonably priced.

Vanessa Bruno

From Vanessa Bruno a lovely terracotta silk blouse
that will look fabulous with navy, white or black.

Acne

Combine with this sensational Acne mini skirt with
leather panels. This is a skirt that you will love and wear over and over. It is
cut high at the front to accentuate length of legs.

Emilio Pucci

Maxis are on trend. However a word of warning,
short ladies look shorter and fatter don’t go there! There are many plump women
breathing a sigh of relief that the ultimate cover up is here. However the maxi
can look more Aintree that St Tropez so choose well and choose colour. Pucci
show you how to get it right here.

Issa

Famous before the Middleton sisters visited the
brand here is a sensational dress in coral form Issa ,it is far brighter in
reality than here.

Pippa Middleton and James Middleton

Famous before the Middleton sisters visited the
brand here is a sensational dress in coral from Issa ,it is far brighter in
reality than here.  Here are Pippa
Middleton and brother James at the Issa show hard to see what the fuss is about
really. All eyes were on Olivia Palermo!

Alice Delall Issa Aw 2010

Issa was an amazing show. Alice Delall strutted down the runway the sound of flight deck music as we were told to fasten are seat belts and prepare for lift off!

Alice Delall Issa AW2010

This dress was heavy chain mail. The flight theme continued with the models having hair swept up over a  foam bun and glasses to create a 50’s look.

Personally this was my favourite. How dramatic is this? The wonderful red cape over black leather trousers. We were all flying by now!!

Issa London 4 Aw2010

As we went into Malcolm McClaren’s theme for British Airways the mood and the tempo changed. Fabulous for evening, effortlessly chic.

Issa London AW2010

As a stylist I like Issa, because the clothes are wearable. Here is a very elegant day dress in grey wool, lace and shoe boots simply superb to stun at lunch.

Issa AW2010

Backstage we watched the models hair backcombed and pulled over the foam support to create high rise towers.

Looking really beautiful with wonderful big eyes and smiling for everyone was Princess Beatrice. Issa was graced by her Royal presence.
