Fabulous Florals Spring Summer 2012 Trend Alert

by Gabrielle on January 30, 2012

Florals have been a firm staple trend (so you’ve probably got plenty in your wardrobe) for the past few years and SS12 saw them receive yet another chic update. These aren’t the standard floral prints you’re used to seeing. This seasons florals have a real depth and artistry to them and the great thing is there is something to suit everyone. Opt for full on vintage romance like Valentino and Alberta Ferretti with dusty pinks, sheer panels and intricate embroidery.

Some florals  take a thoroughly modern approach with pop-art perennials (like Christopher Kane and Rodarte) and bold graphic prints (like Alexander Wang, Matthew Williamson and Mary Katrantzou).

Tips for wearing SS12 Florals: – Try to choose the vintage inspired  or graphic printed florals. – For one on-trend look try clashing florals with an aquatic print or stripes. – For another, try floral prints in soft pastel colours. Here’s a small edition of Florals currently available:

With London Fashion Week just around the corner – Will Autumn/Winter provide yet another incarnation of this mega-trend?

Manolo Blahniks Shoes To fall in love in

by Gabrielle on January 15, 2012

I Love Manolo Blahnik shoes. As a personal shopper  I walk too far too often to wear 4.5″ heels. They are elegant, beautiful and very stylish and I can wear them without my feet hurting. Why wear othopedic boots if you dont need to?

Maybe it is because the shop is within walking distance so I window shop a lot. But judging by the queues outside this week I am not alone.

I am in love……….

These are so dramatic and stylish how to make a little black dress rock………

I was shopping in Harrods yesterday with a client and then looked for shoes for Niloufer and Ilke who are both getting married. I saw so many women staggering around in too high ugly shoes not a good look ladies.

I used to love Christian Louboutin shoes I discovered the shop in Paris many years ago before he became famous over here. But I now think his shoes are outrageously high and far too expensive many yesterday were £1000 pair. Mad. Now I love Manolos try some your feet will love you for it.

Christmas Beauty Gifts

by Gabrielle on December 20, 2011

Molton Brown Gift Set

I love Molton Brown, it is a real treat. Gorgeous smelling, lovely colours and beautiful packaging. The shop on the Kings Road is bustling with people buying lovely Christmas Presents. Sure to be a winner is this great gift set.

Champneys Gift set

I have been promising myself a trip to a Champneys Spa in the New Year but just as nice is a spa at home all your friends will love this very pretty luxurious set.

Rhodes to Heaven

From Rhodes to Heaven is a range of natural products with ingredients such as Juniper berries, Anise extract, beeswax and wild sea fennell. There are gorgeous gift sets or try this lovely cleanser. A great present for your friends.

I like the idea of a collagen  stimulating eye cream and am sure your friends will as well. This range is developed by leading cosmetic doctor Darren Mckeown and the products are all used by patients as his skin clinics.

This cream proveds mositure and advanced antioxidant protection to ensure skin is well protected from free radicals. I always use factor 15 or higher in facial creams so the factor 15 is a welcome addition. Creamy, it softens skin without greasiness for a beautiful face on Christmas morning.

Chokers: New Statement Jewellery

by Michael Mulligan on November 10, 2011

Chokers: Statement Jewellery

With designers dragging them into the twenty first century and a plethora of celebrity fans, the choker necklace really is the comeback neck-trend to take your breath away .
Despite having one of fashions most hazardous names, the choker has made a comeback. This seasons take on chokers are simple in design, but far from subtle.  These snug neck pieces are the perfect go-to accessory for adding an injection of this seasons fetish or forties trends to your wardrobe.

Like all statement  jewellery, these chokers are best when worn in isolation. Avoid earrings as  they will cause distraction (see Amber Rose) and think of the choker as
Lanvin’s Alber Elbaz does: as a cuff for the neck. Keep it simple and make it  your only adornment. Instead of adding other accessories, experiment with  textures and layering: gunmetal under a crisp white work shirt or pearls with a  fur coat. For a stand-out evening look team a voluminous pearl choker with a  strapless dress like Katherine Heigl or choose a contrasting metallic piece and  let it mingle with your neckline like Eva Longoria and Blake Lively – perfect  with an LBD.

With versions available everywhere and prices to suit everyone, the choker is set to be a must have item for your jewellery box this season.

Kate Middleton’s Style : Hit or Miss?

by Gabrielle on August 16, 2011

As The Leading London Personal Shopper  I frequently comment in the press on Celebrity Style. Kate Middleton does not feel she needs a stylist so what is the verdict on Kate Middleton’s style chic or cheap?

 Kate Middleton  Dress

This dress is frankly cheap. It is being worn to a major black tie event and is inappropriate for the then fiance of the future King of England. it would work for a secretary at a Company do.   The embellishment is too heavy, the jacket is too big and overall does not work.

Kate Middleton Street Fashion

Kate Middleton Fashion

This is another dreadful outfit. The grey comfy cardi, baggy enough to cover a stomach and hips of a heavier woman looks old fashioned and makes her look much older than her years. This is a beautiful woman in the prime of life.

Kate Middleton Zara dress

This is yet another cheap and frankly nasty outfit. This dress from Zara does not fit, flatter and the A line shape and wide sleeves serve to make her look fatter and older than she is. No stylist would choose this for someone in the public eye. Kate Middleton is representing the UK and needs to seriously up her game. Using a Personal Shopper or Personal Stylist is a must for anyone regularly photographed.

Kate Middleton Suit

Kate Middleton Hobbs Suit

This is Kate Middleton in a high street Hobbs suit. Hobbs has a much older target consumer group i.e. 35-55 Kate is 27. Thus the effect is dull, makes her look older and has zero wow factor or sex appeal.

Pippa Middleton Dress

Pippa Middleton Dress

This honestly is the dreary sisters. Bear in mind that both are mid to late twenties. These print “safe” dresses are more appropriate for women 30 years older. Pippa Middleton can and should look amazing.

There are great clothes to be had on the high street but she needs to up her spend a bit and choose clothes that are classic with a twist. Kate Middleton’s’ style is naturally classic but she can and should do better. Hire a stylist buy less spend a bit more look chic. This is how she does style well.

This is a stunning dress, she looks every inch the future wife of the King of England.

This outfit looks young, chic and elegant. The first wow casual outfit shown that will and did wow the press.

This is another great dress, clearly not from the high street and clearly fashion forward.

Mens Style Autumn Winter 2011

by Gabrielle on August 2, 2011

Mens Fashion

As a Personal Shopper I am constantly on the look out for great mens clothes. So what is in the shops right now? This is a superb navy shirt from Marc Jacobs that rocks in heavy cotton.

For this gorgeous August sunshine try a linen shirt with shorts. This faded red shirt from Hartford will look great with blue, white or beige shorts.

My favourite Mens Shorts are from Boggi Milano. These are also nice from Polo Ralph Lauren.

My favourite jeans at the moment are charcoal black from Acne, black jeans will always look smarter than blue if you are doing smart casual.

Lovely chinos can be found at Canali and also at Incotex who manufacturer for Ralph Lauren at a much cheaper price.

Mens Knitwear

From France is a gorgous sexy sweater from Maison Martin Margeila  I love the shawl collar.

I love Italian style this is a superb piece of Etro tailoring and looks amazing on.

Autumn Winter Trends 2011 :1940′s Fashion

by Gabrielle on August 1, 2011

I love 1940’s fashion. Recently commenting for The Guardian on Glamour of the Gods I noted how relevant it is to what we wear today. Here is Kate Moss on this months Vogue.co.uk looking so elegant and stylish in a beautiful 1940’s style dress from Miu Miu.

From Mark Jacobs we have witty pretty little suits perfectly matched ladylike gloves, collar, hat and hosiery and look at that stylish hand bag lovely.

At Gucci there is sublime sensual fox fur in gorgeous wine, to match a cerise dress topped with a wonderful mauve Homberg hat. The key to wearing this is in the details, colours are matched, gloves, hats, bags provide the essential extras and the whole adds up to elegant style.

John Galliano shows us the importance of tailoring. Here topped with a stylish French beret the silhouette is sculpted to show off the hourglass figure. Very feminine and very flattering.

Lanvin rocks and this season it does not disappoint check the hat, gloves and bag all in scale and perfectly proportioned coupled with a supple leather shift dress superb.

Some of us are ahead of the Fash Pack, here is me wearing vintage Christian Dior outside Christopher Kane in Sept 2010!!

Gabrielle Teare is the Leading London Personal Stylist and Personal Shopper based in Chelsea, London.

I love this bikini  so so sexy from Agent Provocateur sensibly in bra sizes so may fit for a change. I am a D cup so if bottoms fit have to tie knots in the top.

From Lisa Maree comes a crochet swimsuit that will look great on tanned skin……..

Aloe Vera is well reknowned for its after sun superb moisturising and healing effects so be sure to pack Eternal Skincare Aole Super hydrating moisturiser in your bag.

Matthew Williamson has a fab long multicoloured sarong to wear to Club 55

From Harley Street Skin pack StemCellution it speeds up call renewal, increases collagen production and forms a natural barrier to repel harmful UV rays so it can act with your sunscreen. Be smart and invest in your skin.

From Thakoon comes a head turning maxi cover-up that will look cool with heels or black espadrilles.

New from French firm Vichy is the product of 10 years research LiftActiv. This is a clinically tested and proven cream that works on the fibroblasts to actively stimulate the production of collagen in the skin. The result is a winning new way to target wrinkles by targeting the aging process directly, this lead to a reduction in all 5 types of wrinkles tested.  Use it at night to heal your skin from the sun’s rays.

Herve Leger create gorgeous sexy dresses from red carpet to holidays. This is a sweet mini dress great for parties and clubbing.

New from Clinique this summer are these fab chubby stick moisturising lip balm pencils come in a great range of colours. Mine was immediately ravaged by my friend’s daughter Saisha who declared they were the coolest thing ever! Stick in your handbag rather than a melting lipstick and go dance the night away.

Gorgeous Guiseppe Zanotti sandals to go out dancing or to dinner in will complete any outfit.

The White T shirt

June 29, 2011

Tweet The perfect white number by Stella McCartney. So we all have one or two, it will be undoubtedly tucked away in the dark recesses of our wardrobe, as usually the limelight is selectively bestowed on the current seasons must have, or on sacred Vintage treasures. The white T-shirt has always been in its simplicity, [...]
