With designers dragging them into the twenty first century and a plethora of celebrity fans, the choker necklace really is the comeback neck-trend to take your breath away .
Despite having one of fashions most hazardous names, the choker has made a comeback. This seasons take on chokers are simple in design, but far from subtle. These snug neck pieces are the perfect go-to accessory for adding an injection of this seasons fetish or forties trends to your wardrobe.

Like all statement jewellery, these chokers are best when worn in isolation. Avoid earrings as they will cause distraction (see Amber Rose) and think of the choker as
Lanvin’s Alber Elbaz does: as a cuff for the neck. Keep it simple and make it your only adornment. Instead of adding other accessories, experiment with textures and layering: gunmetal under a crisp white work shirt or pearls with a fur coat. For a stand-out evening look team a voluminous pearl choker with a strapless dress like Katherine Heigl or choose a contrasting metallic piece and let it mingle with your neckline like Eva Longoria and Blake Lively – perfect with an LBD.
With versions available everywhere and prices to suit everyone, the choker is set to be a must have item for your jewellery box this season.

THE HIDDEN GEM
The expected sound of car horns and the echoed hum of street life are the first sounds that transport you undoubtedly to a Park Avenue entrance. A white v-neck Heritage by Halston dress outlines the streamlined figure of a woman, D`eja` Vu? Yes you’ve got it, the opening scene Sex and the City 2. As she raises her arm to flag down the only mode of transport the sex and city girls ever use, we notice the deco style necklace adorning her neck, brought to full effect by the simple lines of the dress. The necklace is a statement piece made of diamonds, sapphires, and emeralds. The creator of the piece however is far from the celebrity spotlight; she is the woman behind the jewels and the glittering personas who wear her latest sparkles.

Solange – Azugury Partridge started designing in 1990 and worked with Antique jewellery specialist Gordon Watson who introduced her vintage Cartier, Tiffany, and Van Cleef and Arpel. Her designs are inspiring with a definite belle époque influence but with a strong contemporary effect, which does not overshadow the designers personal feelings that the Jewells represent.

The recent opening of her Bond Street salon, which is hosting a series of events resonant of the premises 1970′s nightclub feel, with A- listers such as Jennifer Aniston and, Thandie Newton amongst her disciples we have no doubt that London will make this hidden gem Sparkle eve more.

Jennifer Aniston wears the “Opal Fruit Bangle” pictured below, fantastic accessories for couture maxi dresses.

Georgina Chapman
All that glitters is not always gold and I couldn’t agree more when I heard about the ultra lux jewellery collaboration between Georgina Chapman dress designer extraordinaire behind Marchesa aka Mrs. Harvey Weinstein and Garrard. With creative director Stephen Webster working alongside Chapman this is sure to be fashions new power couple.

As the holidays approach I can’t think of a better time to the ditch the lumps of coal and oranges from the stockings and make room for more diamonds!
Here is my pick from the collection:

Look at this for a hair accessory!

In every girl’s life there is a jewellery moment. This is a tremendous statement piece that also happened to win the Design Innovation Award at International Jewellery London this week. This ring has a flower like design drawing the eye into the central 2.59ct accher cut diamond.

I met Fei Liu who designed these wonderful pieces and explained about his equally stunning earrings which also won the 2009 Design Innovation Award. These contain very rare antique Qing Dynasty blue and white china over 400 years old. Feilui.co.uk
