Fabulous Florals Spring Summer 2012 Trend Alert

by Gabrielle on January 30, 2012

Florals have been a firm staple trend (so you’ve probably got plenty in your wardrobe) for the past few years and SS12 saw them receive yet another chic update. These aren’t the standard floral prints you’re used to seeing. This seasons florals have a real depth and artistry to them and the great thing is there is something to suit everyone. Opt for full on vintage romance like Valentino and Alberta Ferretti with dusty pinks, sheer panels and intricate embroidery.

Some florals  take a thoroughly modern approach with pop-art perennials (like Christopher Kane and Rodarte) and bold graphic prints (like Alexander Wang, Matthew Williamson and Mary Katrantzou).

Tips for wearing SS12 Florals: – Try to choose the vintage inspired  or graphic printed florals. – For one on-trend look try clashing florals with an aquatic print or stripes. – For another, try floral prints in soft pastel colours. Here’s a small edition of Florals currently available:

With London Fashion Week just around the corner – Will Autumn/Winter provide yet another incarnation of this mega-trend?

Siren Song : Spring Summer 2012 Trends

by Hayley Bevan on January 10, 2012

Givenchy SS2012

The  theme of water appears to have been the canvas for the spring-summer 2012 parades. The mythical siren sang beguilingly to designers to lure them into creating homage to herself and the aquamarine and cerulean sea realm. The models came  wrapped in clothes in the colors of the seabed, rebrodées and shimmering scales at Givenchy  with its wetsuit-like feel to the collection.

Chanel SS2102

Also ribbons in the shape of waves adorning the nymphs here at Chanel we felt the definite undercurrent of a  Botticelli  sea Goddess with iridescent mother of pearl, and strings of pearls encircling waists.

Chanel SS2012

Even the catwalk was adorned with waves and sea pebbles to create a marine feel.

versace SS2012

Prints which echoed ancient pottery and the myth of Poseidon at Versace.

versace SS2012

At Versace, materials, light as sea foam floated in a harmonious aquatic carousel, and seemed to blend, as in nature with their lines and hues the with the horizon of the sea and sky.

Alexander McQueen SS2012

The underwater magic did not stop there at Mcqueen we saw the emergence of another sea goddess, the oceanic life of Gaia was as fresh sea spray on the outfits composed of corals and shells.

All in all the shows were a fabulous dive into the deep blue for the Stylists at Gabrielle Teare who can’t wait to be adding a splash bringing next season’s biggest trend into our clients wardrobes.

Molton Brown Gift Set

I love Molton Brown, it is a real treat. Gorgeous smelling, lovely colours and beautiful packaging. The shop on the Kings Road is bustling with people buying lovely Christmas Presents. Sure to be a winner is this great gift set.

Champneys Gift set

I have been promising myself a trip to a Champneys Spa in the New Year but just as nice is a spa at home all your friends will love this very pretty luxurious set.

Rhodes to Heaven

From Rhodes to Heaven is a range of natural products with ingredients such as Juniper berries, Anise extract, beeswax and wild sea fennell. There are gorgeous gift sets or try this lovely cleanser. A great present for your friends.

I like the idea of a collagen  stimulating eye cream and am sure your friends will as well. This range is developed by leading cosmetic doctor Darren Mckeown and the products are all used by patients as his skin clinics.

This cream proveds mositure and advanced antioxidant protection to ensure skin is well protected from free radicals. I always use factor 15 or higher in facial creams so the factor 15 is a welcome addition. Creamy, it softens skin without greasiness for a beautiful face on Christmas morning.

Stella McCartney Ready To Wear?

by Michael Mulligan on December 15, 2011

When I first saw Stella McCartney Spring Summer 2012 I was intrigued by it’s casual, laid back and original approach. Although I’m usually a fan of Stella’s collections, I didn’t immediately take to the muted geometric prints edged with swirling baroque lace and embroidery– I had doubts about how wearable the collection was and how it would translate onto women away from the Parisian runway.

Stella McCartney herself wore a piece of the collection to British fashion awards this week where she won the red carpet award. Stella looks typically understated but in her light printed jumpsuit, but I can’t help feeling the look is a little too casual. The word ‘pyjamas’ springs to mind.

It’s Cocktail Hour : Office to Party Fashion

by Hayley Bevan on December 6, 2011

bottega veneta workwear dress

The Stylist picked pieces that will take you from office to cocktails.

At this time of year our main priorities as fabulous Stylists are to make sure that our clients have a Stylish array of outfits specifically selected to take them from office to cocktail hour. Here at Gabrielle Teare we have made our selections to ensure you dazzle the moment you walk in.

christian louboutin

Sculpted with folded panels, this number by Bottega Veneta this dress will make a stylish addition to your work wear wardrobe, the black grosgrain knot belt will add an elegantly defined silhouette, to take this look from day to night, I would style it with these gorgeous Christian Louboutin burgundy patent-leather pumps with a fashion shot of glamorous sparkle with their crystal-dipped heels, fabulously classic with a twist.

Dolce and Gabbanna shearling bag

To add a definite feel of decadence to this outfit I would style it with a decadent accessory like Dolce & Gabbana’s shearling and textured-leather tote, which as a Stylist I can guaranteek it’s the hottest way to make a statement this season.

Roksander Ilincic

This is one of my favourite dresses,  Roksanda Ilincic always designs dresses that look absolutely stunning on, in a palette of off-white, navy and orange, this is a definite fashion lover’s choice. Styled with this gorgeous elegant and refined, Marc Jacobs navy leather tote, this softly structured style adds sophisticated look for work and after work drinks.

Marc by marc jacobsAlexander birman

These classic python pumps by Alexandre Birman are the perfect anchor for this statement look.

Antonio Beradi

With structured shoulders and a nipped in waist Antonio Berardi’s stretch-wool is perfect for creating a sexy hourglass silhouette, and it makes an effortless work-to-cocktails transition

Pierre hardy

Add a stunning pair of Pierre Hardy’s burgundy patent-leather which offset the gray dress  with their rich hue, this is a truly elegant day-to night look.

marni bag

Marni’s black leather tote is the epitome of pared perfection. Carry it from day to night with this sleek dress and pumps for an elegant uptown look

by Gabrielle on November 30, 2011

I was thrilled when Sarah Burton won British  Fashion Awards Designer of The Year. The collection from Alexander McQueen has become more feminine and stylish. I loved Pippa Middleton’s Dress at the wedding and more recently some of Kate Middleton’s most stylish looks have come from here. So here is a celebration of Sarah Burton and congratulations to a well deserved winner!

1920′s Trends

November 22, 2011

Tweet The 1920′s was a time of luxury, style and decadence. Keeping that in mind, it’s no wonder designers have re-incarnated  the flapper dress for their Spring/Summer 2012 collections. Shiny metallics, low dropped waists and fun, glitzy details like tassels, beading and fringing were the original party frocks for the girls who ditched their corsets [...]
