THE CEW (UK) 2011 BEAUTY AWARDS WINNERS

Over 600 industry insiders have voted to choose the winners of the coveted CEW (UK) 2011 Beauty Awards’, sponsored by Superdrug.

2011 has seen natural and organic products winning in not only the Best New Certified Organic Product category, won by Balance Me – Super Oil with Juniper and Bergamot, but also categories that do not stipulate the need for naturals or organics. Liz Earle stole the show by picking up two Awards including Best British Brand and Best New Haircare/Styling Product (Prestige) with the new Botanical Shine Shampoo. Also Natural brand, Dr.Organic scooped Best New Everyday Facial Skincare Product (Mass) as well as the prestigious Best New Brand (Mass), shared with Lanolips.

Best New Women’s Fragrance

Chloé Love, Chloé was the triumphant winner in the Best New Women’s Fragrance category, while Chanel Bleu de Chanel Eau de Toilette won the Best New Men’s Fragrance. Chanel Bleu is fab!

Best New Make-Up

Nars and Chanel stole the make-up limelight for 2011. NARS Orgasm Illuminator took home the Best New Make-Up Product for Face while Chanel Rouge Coco Hydrating Crème Lip Colour won the Best New Make-up Product for Lips.

RapidLash Eyelash Enhancing Serum beat the competition to win Best New Make-up Product. Bio-Oil and Eve Lom’s Cleanser won Best Classic Beauty Product in the Mass and Prestige categories , while Elizabeth Arden’s Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant became the Best Iconic Beauty Product for 2011. -           Newcomer to the Awards, Lanolips picked up the joint Best New Brand Award alongside Dr. Organic, as well as having Lanolips 101 Ointment crowned Best New Skincare Treatment Product (Mass).CEW (UK) President, Caroline Neville, said: “The awards were established to recognise innovation in the beauty industry and are highly significant. Having third party endorsement from CEW adds authenticity to the product.

The CEW (UK) 2011 Beauty Awards Winners were presented with CEW (UK)’s exquisite Lalique ‘Beauty Oscar’ at the dazzling Awards Ceremony held on Friday 20th May at the InterContinental London Park Lane. A total of 304 products in 24 categories competed for the awards this year. All 25 winners were voted for by over 600 CEW (UK) members.

CEW(UK) Beauty Awards 2010 Winners

I was honoured to attend the CEW(UK) Beauty Awards at the Intercontinental Hotel. The awards ceremony was packed full of the most glamorous beautiful people obviously using lots of beauty products! Every year the 700 members of the CEW test the products and vote on line. The major press, beauty companies, then attend a glowing award ceremony.

Here are the ones I have tried and recommend. All for Eve won 3 Categories and is a range of unperfumed crèmes raising money for Gynaecological cancer. Liz Earle Naturally Active Skincare is a lovely range and deservedly this also won 3 awards. Estee Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair synchronized Recovery Complex won Best New Skincare Treatment Prestige Product. While St Tropez won in two categories and was the first brand to win in a mass and prestige category for its Wash Off Instant (Mass) and Everyday Gradual Tan Mousse (Prestige). Dolce and Gabanna The Make Up won Best New Prestige Brand, and Diorskin Nude foundation won best new prestige makeup product. I have tried both these brands and would heartedly recommend the Diorskin foundation I love it! It will replace Chantercaille in my makeup bag.

The lovely Elemis range won best British brand and of course Clarins Beauty Flash Balm won best iconic product. Mark Jacobs Lola won best fragrance Prestige.

Lisa Alward
