by Hayley Bevan on December 6, 2011

bottega veneta workwear dress

The Stylist picked pieces that will take you from office to cocktails.

At this time of year our main priorities as fabulous Stylists are to make sure that our clients have a Stylish array of outfits specifically selected to take them from office to cocktail hour. Here at Gabrielle Teare we have made our selections to ensure you dazzle the moment you walk in.

christian louboutin

Sculpted with folded panels, this number by Bottega Veneta this dress will make a stylish addition to your work wear wardrobe, the black grosgrain knot belt will add an elegantly defined silhouette, to take this look from day to night, I would style it with these gorgeous Christian Louboutin burgundy patent-leather pumps with a fashion shot of glamorous sparkle with their crystal-dipped heels, fabulously classic with a twist.

Dolce and Gabbanna shearling bag

To add a definite feel of decadence to this outfit I would style it with a decadent accessory like Dolce & Gabbana’s shearling and textured-leather tote, which as a Stylist I can guaranteek it’s the hottest way to make a statement this season.

Roksander Ilincic

This is one of my favourite dresses,  Roksanda Ilincic always designs dresses that look absolutely stunning on, in a palette of off-white, navy and orange, this is a definite fashion lover’s choice. Styled with this gorgeous elegant and refined, Marc Jacobs navy leather tote, this softly structured style adds sophisticated look for work and after work drinks.

Marc by marc jacobsAlexander birman

These classic python pumps by Alexandre Birman are the perfect anchor for this statement look.

Antonio Beradi

With structured shoulders and a nipped in waist Antonio Berardi’s stretch-wool is perfect for creating a sexy hourglass silhouette, and it makes an effortless work-to-cocktails transition

Pierre hardy

Add a stunning pair of Pierre Hardy’s burgundy patent-leather which offset the gray dress  with their rich hue, this is a truly elegant day-to night look.

marni bag

Marni’s black leather tote is the epitome of pared perfection. Carry it from day to night with this sleek dress and pumps for an elegant uptown look

Iconic Fashion Autumn Winter 2011

by Gabrielle on August 7, 2011

Every season brings iconic fashion that screams style and buy me!! This gorgeous coat (plus Homberg hat ) from Gucci  one example. Gucci is full of fabulous jewel colours.

Antonio Beradi has two amazing dresses this is showing the lace trend, the other is a stunning red dress with padded shoulders.

Whenever I am Personal Shopping for someone who wants a truly special dress I always check out Dolce and Gabbanna. The star fabric in heavy silk will make you look and feel gorgeous. These dresses have inbuilt corsetary to suck in the waist and flatter, you do not have to be small to look great. Larger sizes look voluptuous and sexy totally feminine.

Here is the sizzlingly sexy Bond actress Zoe Salander showing how to rock Dolce and Gabbanna.

I loved the Givenchy collection. To me it was the mixture of colours, black and yellow, or black and blue creating a superb opulence. I will be looking for these to arrive in the shops.

I loved Holly Fulton the show rocked and here is how to work the large pattern trend. With chunky integral jewllery this maxi dress in wonderful turquoise is simply sensational.

Top Tips for Interns Jobs

by Gabrielle on July 31, 2011

So now you have got your degree, where to now?? Searching for a job or a first internship can be daunting personal stylist Gabrielle Teare gives some top tips. These are some of the things that helped CNN viewers to get jobs.

Tip 1. Look the Part.

First Impressions count. We make decisions on people in the first 30 seconds of meeting them we never get another chance to make a good first impression so dress to impress.  Wear a suit or a slick dress, corporate colours are black, navy and grey, stick to them.

Tip 3. Preparation

Learn about the company. Why should they employ you? What skills, unique talents do you have that set you apart? Why do you want to work for them? Do you homework. Practice standard interview questions and learn the answers so nothing catches you out.

Tip 4. Fitting in

Do not wear over fashionable clothes, too much make-up, jewellery or perfume. Make sure you have had a haircut and you are well groomed, nails manicured, shoes polished etc all add to that first 30 second impact. Smile, extend a hand in friendship, shake firmly and make eye contact. Many people can do the job, what people want is someone who will get on with others.

Tip 5 Sell Yourself

Do not be afraid to boost yourself at interviews, it is the one chance you have to shine. Do not be arrogant but think of all the things you have done that could help you to be a valuable member of that company. When have you been a team player? Now is the time to match yourself to the job in hand. Go for it! Good Luck.

Style Icon Mark Ronson always looks the part, always creative great for the Media industry. What do people wear in your industry? City suits are very different from media suits.

Scarlet Fever

by Lauren Waine on November 1, 2010

The classic Little Black Dress faces some fierce competition this upcoming party season in the form of the statement red dress.  In a variety of bold shades, from deep, dark Maroon, Scarlet and Burgundy at Dolce and Gabbana and Elie Saab to bright Tomato and Vermilion at Valentino, vibrancy is key.

(L-R: Elie Saab, Andrew Gn, Georgio Armani)

The LRD exudes elegance and confidence, whether it be a daring mini dress or a dramatic floor length gown. Rich, heavy velvet as seen at Zac Posen and light, floaty chiffon at Andrew Gn, both have high impact.

(L-R:  Dolce & Gabbana, Valentino, Zac Posen)

So sizzle this winter as a Lady in Red, in a fiery rebellion against the safe, dark palette or predictable sequins of Christmas’s passed.

Mens Style To Impress : What to Wear Now

by Gabrielle on August 19, 2010

I love styling men, there are so many fantastic clothes out there. Men should wear great colours that suit them, cool designs and expensive shoes. I like Etro for shirts, jackets and coats. This is a great easy coat to wear for Autumn days.

Leather is hot for this Autumn. Zegna make great suits for a classic fit, and this season check out the leather shearling jackets. Prada, D and G, Etro, Armani all have versions. This jacket and chunky polo neck will make you look broader, taller and is very sexy.

Lanvin rocks! Each season visit for cool jackets, fabulous suits and uber stylish ties.If you have not yet been to Savile Row this season is the time to go.

Cheap shoes will drive women away trust me. The number of conversations women have about tasteless shoes would be a revelation to men. Several of my friends have rejected advances purely because of shoes! Prada make fantastic trainers and loafers. Alexander McQueen does a privately ordered range at Harrods. Cheap shoes cheapen the whole outfit. Buy less and buy good. For work shoes Church’s and Prada make nice shoes that if you are typical of the men I know will last for 10 years or more. Cost per wear becomes negligible. Women’s shoes cost far more and last about 6 months!

Also at Prada this season is lovely wearable autumnal colours. Combine a blue shirt with a soft brown jumper and jacket for effortless style. The jumper in the shops is longer!

Cashmere jumpers are lovely, and there are great colours out there for men, Dunhill, Aquascutum, with their new design team, Armani and Ralph Lauren all make fantastic designs. They are seriously nice to wear and soft to the touch- cuddly. Try the ones styled with a collar like a long sleeve polo shirt. Also hitting the shops are ski jumpers this is seriously nice from D and G.

Mens styling for very tall men is harder, there are many men out there over 6’4”, it has taken me ages to source clothes for them. High and Mighty is a good source but the suit quality and selection for slim men is poor. I suggest their Ralph Lauren range and to go elsewhere for bespoke tailoring for suits and shirts. The Italian suit maker Sartoria is great and reasonably priced. Segun Adelaja has clothes to dream about. Very elegant and sophisticated, classic with a twist. Timothy Everest, does a range at Marks and Spencers.

Ties again should be expensive, forget  polyester, big spots or “funny”ties go for silk. Buy Hermes, Lanvin, Salvatore Ferragamo, to instantly upgrade your look under £100.
