Beauty tips for your wedding day

Be beautiful by spritzing with Institut Esthederm   Cellular Water Energising Spray. This will awaken the senses, revitalise skin for radiance. It will also usefully set your make-up to stop it slipping off as the day wears on.

If you are applying your own make-up Japonesque have a lovely range of make-up brushes at Boots.Com. This blusher brush has a lovely long handle making it very easy to apply without overcaking your face, available exclusively at John Lewis.

Exclusive to Harrods from January is an amazing new cream from Clinique. This is multitasking cream with antioxidants, UVA , UVB sunscreens to protect you from sunburn during the photos in the mid day sun. It contains optics to hide imperfections and make wrinkles and fine lines look visibly reduced. It also has shine control and will help balance your skin. This is a huge favourite already in Asia and now available here. My skin loved it and I will use on my wedding day this summer.

From Susan Posnick comes a double sided lip gloss the Colorforever  with deep colour at one end and an added lip plumping agent at the other. This will provide colour that will last all day for you.

To ensure you get a good nights sleep the night before try this. I have been using this and it does work! There is a lovely lavender satin eye mask and a cream with lavender  and rose essential oils that smell fantastic and lull you off to sleep……..

Indulge your senses on the day with Champneys Thai Spa range smells amazing and will make you feel like the star you are.

I wish you every joy on your wedding day………..

Dressing For A Luxury Resort Holiday

by Gabrielle on December 12, 2011

Something The Luxury Travel Bible always struggles with is the age old question of ‘what to pack’?
So we knew we could do with some expert advice from respected Personal Stylist, Image Consultant and Fashion Writer and Editor, Gabrielle Teare, who has provided styling consultancy for Disney on two of their recent films, Confessions of a Shopaholic and Tinkerbell.

When she isn’t styling Hollywood Gabrielle is shopping and styling her upmarket clientele from her base in the shopping heart of chic Chelsea, London.
Gabrielle believes ‘We all deserve to be stylish’ so TLTB asked her to share some recommendations on what luxury travellers should pack for luxury resorts to stylishly take them from suite to beach to bar…

Gabrielle says… ‘From Club55 to Necker Island, holiday dressing never seems to follow the principle less is more! So much to choose from so little room in the suitcase! Cosmetics, books and shoes alone take up most of the weight allowance. So here is my guide to what to take on holiday to ensure that you will always have something to wear and look stylish, and feel fabulous all holiday long’.

The Maxi Dress

Choose a brightly coloured one in silk and you have a look for any day or evening. This wonderful dress from Holly Fulton shows how easy it is to look sensational in a maxi. Choose one of the many jersey ones such as Roberto Cavalli and it will fold away to nothing in your suitcase and provide endless beachware or city sightseeing style.

The Sizzling Swimsuit

From Brazilian Clube Rossa comes a sensational one shoulder suit that will double as a top with a simple black, orange or navy skirt. Styles are now available with lycra to smooth curves and underwiring to ensure sexiness. Try on a lot until you find one that you love.

The Cool Pant Suit

Combine a long white linen shirt with cropped capri pants, gold flats a beaded big necklace and you have effortless chic.

I love this Maliparmi outfit classic Milanese style. The white shirt will also double as a beach cover-up.

The Panama Hat

Every girl needs a hat, to save the skin from the sun. Here is a stunning cream panama by Pachacuti with a teal grosgrain trim. Combine with a Emilio Pucci turquoise and white dress to stun for those sun baked lunches in cafes with Rose and as many courses as you allow yourself!

The Day Dress

You can’t beat a great white dress in scorching sun. My favourite of this season is Dolce and Gabbanna this dress rocks…

Shoemania

Take a pair of flat sandals and then grab these go anywhere amazing shoes from Jimmy Choo. Crystal embellished great for dancing the night away.

Dr.Hauschka

Cult beauty range Dr Hauschka’s mositurising day creme as used by Kristen Stewart in the Twilight films to keep her skin dewy and perfect. I like the rich creaminess without grease under my makeup great for dry winter faces.

Qsilica As skin can often get dry and lose a lot of moisture during the winter months, the Qsilica REMOVE helps prepare skin for moisturisation this range uses lovely but potent natural  ingredients such as macademia oil, sunflower oil and vitamin A.

Winter cold can wreck havoc with our skin leaving it red, inflammed and dry. SkinMedica antiredness is clinically proven to reduce redness by blocking PGE2 a major contributing factor for redness and pigmentation changes whilst also rehydrating the skin.

1920′s Trends

by Michael Mulligan on November 22, 2011

The 1920′s was a time of luxury, style and decadence. Keeping that in mind, it’s no wonder designers have re-incarnated  the flapper dress for their Spring/Summer 2012 collections. Shiny metallics, low dropped waists and fun, glitzy details like tassels, beading and fringing were the original party frocks for the girls who ditched their corsets and danced their cares away.

1920's trends 1

From Marc Jacobs and Gucci to Ralph Lauren and Alberta Feretti, the Spring/Summer shows were laced with a definite nod to the decade. Soft, leisurely cuts in whites, pastels and delicate florals accompanied elegant hats clearly taking inspiration from the daywear of the era.

With celebrities like Diane Kruger and Camilla Belle already taking up the look and Baz Luhrmann’s adaptation of The Great Gatsby due out net year, I predict this blossoming trend will only get bigger.

The New Maxi Coat Trend

The Trend: The Maxi Coat

There is no escaping winter, here are the the best styles handpicked by stylists at Gabrielle Teare.

Remember the furore of last year’s Camel Coat? As always every season see the rise of a new star in the coat charts. From Celine’s long Chesterfield coat and Haider Ackermann’s theatrical floor grazing coat, it was clear at the shows that maxi coats were going to be big for AW11.

Here at Gabrielle Teare we wouldn’t be fabulous stylists if we didn’t give you some stylish advice on how to pull this trend, be aware that the most flattering shapes in this style are streamlined, and opt for a single breasted or dressing gown style. Pinstripe, grey flannel, and luxurious wool and cashmere, with clean minimal lines, are all set to make you stand out. Take a look at our stylist edits to ensure that you won’t be left out in the cold or from the style fronts this winter.

margiela coat

Margiela Coat

This wool-blend Merlot coloured coat from Maison Martin Margiela, has the fashion house’s characteristic twist. Wear with a draped blouse and straight leather trousers for a work to dinner look.

rodarte coat

rodarte coat

The Rodarte girls did it again, for this season they infused their collection with a dramatic look, and this coat adds a touch of theatre to any outfit, channel the show styling and wear it with chiffon billowing skirts and flowing lines.

Roland Mouret

roland Mouret coat

Another favourite by Monsieur Mouret  here at Gabrielle Teare, this is immaculate tailoring at its best, this hopsack-wool coat is best when worn open to show off a stunning shift dress or belted up to chinch in the waist with a pair of straight leg trousers and patent stacks.

Missoni Coat

Missoni Coat

This Missoni coat is absolutely stunning, the Chartreuse and White wool-blend checked pattern was one of the key looks for the Missoni A/W
show, however this statement pattern is screaming for subtle and minimal tailoring to be worn underneath.

Rick Owens Coat

Rick Owens Coat

An asymmetric wool-blend coat from the master of cool Rick Owens, figure flattering, grey melange, uber cool, this one wins them all, wear with a cashmere sweater and remember to team grey tailoring with rich rusty browns leathers, knee highs or shoe boots, and a matching clutch with this will look  tres tres chic.

Chloe Coat

Chloe coat

An absolutely fabulous coat from Chloe, it is the perfect “effortless but oozing elegance” statement. The fabric flows beautifully and the gold clasp on the front is the ultimate waist cincher, wear with wide pant legs and fabulous platforms.

Aminaka Wilmont From the Front Row

October 17, 2011

Tweet Last but not least, Scandinavian duo Aminaka Wilmont ended London Fashion Week on a high note for me. Simple sculptured shapes in soft browns and greys showed neutral colours against  stone landscape. Bold graphic prints in this show the duo called changeling were modern, fresh and elegant. I like this long dress, leggings combo. Great for [...]

The Chanel Show

October 10, 2011

Tweet The Chanel show rocked. The ethereal models walked a sea scape of shells boulders and pebbles all in dazzling white to offset the clothes. To match the background many of the clothes were white great for spring. Baby pink which I love and looks amazing on dark haired people,  so soft and flattering, lighting the face [...]
