Lanvin For H&M November 23rd :Lux for Less

by Tracy Kawalik on November 6, 2010

Designer collaborations are the fashion future. With music, art and fashion leaders teaming up with the high street to create cuper cool and stylized collections that often sell out in a matter of minutes. The campaign was shot with top supermodels Natasha Poly, Hanelore Knuts and Tati Cotliar.

How amazing is this T-Shirt????

H&M was one of the first high street retailers to set the trend by collaborating with the finest in fashion world. Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Madonna, Victor & Rolf, Matthew Willamson and Sonia Rykiel have all collaborated with H&M in the past creating jaw-dropping collections that attract thousands of adoring fans and often become the most coveted items of the season!

This gorgeous dress would retail for >£1200 so buy for a snip at H&M. It will suit almost anyone but will flatter taller ladies, hourglass and add curves to straight figures.

My heart was a flutter when I found out Lanvin would be making my November this year by collaborating with H&M in their annual Christmas designer collection. The full line has just been revealed on www.h&m.com and will be on the shop floors for purchase on November 23rd. This necklace pay £500 or c£15 choice is yours.

Fashion insiders are already buzzing over the key pieces such as oversized jewelled accessories and Lanvin signature dresses which will all be available at fraction of the price for those of us who not regulars on the Bond Street scene. Check out this 50′s Prom dress. Be careful if you are short go for the more streamlined ones.

The collection is said to feature high quality and craftsmanship despite the price tag, reported Artistic director Alber Elbaz “H&M approached us to collaborate, and see if we could translate the dream we created at Lanvin to a wider audience, not just a dress for less.

I have said in the past that I would never do a mass-market collection, but what intrigued me was the idea of H&M going luxury rather than Lanvin going public.”

The Margaret Mulberry Bag

by Gabrielle on October 27, 2010

As the Leading London Personal Shopper I am always hard pushed not to buy everything I see that I like!! I really like these!! Named after Princess Margaret these Mulberry bags are fabulous. Great colours and a classic timeless go-anywhere design.

They have a tea and cake logo which is fun, but this should be gin and cigarettes to reflect Princess Margaret!! Nonetheless I like it.

Margaret had a fun-packed hedonisitic lifestyle but she was also beautiful and stylish as is this amazing grey ostrich bag.

How elegant was she……. so go grab one and live life to the full every time you take it out just as she would have!!

Jonathan Saunders Spring Summer 2011

by Gabrielle on September 22, 2010

Jonathan Saunders was a beautiful show, I loved every minute. The venue was amazing, loads of light, the music was cool and the clothes were fabulous. The light was particularly impressive and really affected the quality of the press images. I felt like we were actually sitting outside as it flooded through the windows onto the spring fabrics, with just the right balance of down lighting provided by the venues facilities. Imagine wearing this next summer, lovely lovely lovely!!

This dress was gorgeous. Backstage, the model wearing it loved it, so did the stylists, on a spring day you would stop traffic. Feminine, floaty and utterly wearable.

I love beige and white together, very chic. This 50’s flirty striped little sundress is made for a fun sunny day.  Although A line which widens the hips, the short skirt balances this out to give an elegant sexy outfit.

Wonderful oranges, lemons and bright blues to gladden the heart.  Orange chiffon with a nude underbody fun to wear and stunning to see. The 50’s theme was shown with another A line skirt and minimal belt.

Black and white is another wonderful combination. How elegant is this dress? I love the bright blue shoes underneath as well. Superb.

Here is Olivia Palermo wearing DVF and Tibi shorts. At Christopher Kane last year I was the only person who recognised and photographed her. This time round she is the darling of London Fashion Week.

Henry Clarke was a great great fashion photographer of Haute Couture in the 1950’s and 1960’s.

Born in Los Angeles in 1918, Henry Clarke, the renowned fashion photographer, discovered his calling in 1945 whilst working as an accessorist at Condé Nast in New York.

During an encounter with the great Cecil Beaton during a photography session at Vogue’s studio, Clarke was entranced by the photographic image. He promptly abandoned his fashion job, borrowed a Rolleiflex camera and began taking pictures.

One of his gifts was “always making the women he photographed look beautiful.” His images were the epitome of sophistication, with wisps of veil making eyes mysterious and lens magic creating more swanlike necks than ever existed.

Parisian Chic

With the help of women like Suzy Parker, Ann Sainte Marie and Bettina, the most glamorous models of the day, Clarke captured the elegance of the modern woman: young, lively, carefree and seductive.

He also took celebrity portraits: Anna Magnani, Coco Chanel, Sophia Loren and Maria Callas were among his best known subjects.
