FUR MANIA: Warm Shape to the Season
Already thinking about the temperatures plummet to below freezing we are all looking for something chic to wear which will also keep us warm.
Fur is back in a big way, presented on AW 09/10 collections in bold colours, shapes, and sizes both real or faux.
( Of course, despite such popularity as a trend it remains a controversial material and you can expect an increase in the antics of groups such as PETA as a result.)
For AW 09/10 season, fur it is not just about coat or jacket: designers were so creative and gave it a new shape and visual interest in using it to emphasize collars and cuffs, sleeves and pockets, borders and edges and combining it with materials such as fabric or leather in innovative ways.
Striking Color for Michael Kors, Julien Mac Donald, Mario Schwab, Thakoon.
Fur hat for MICHAEL KORS in neon color, THAKOON, CHRISTIAN DIOR, ICERBERG.
So 80s at DEREK LAM, ICEBERG, DOLCE& GABBANA.

As snood for Matthew Williamson and Burberry.
As sleeve detail for a dress in a blue hue at BLUGIRL, or in a pink hairy rounded shoulders on an astrakan coat at Dolce& Gabbana, on a blazer for Miss Sixty and maxi on a coat at ICEBERG.

And I am sure that these new shapes and creative uses of designer fur will reach out to a new customer, one who has never worn fur before.
