New lingerie & concept store, Apartment C is set to surprise London’s Marylebone High Street, when it opens its doors on March 26th 2009.
Uber Stylish Owner Kenya Cretegny who I met at London Fashion Week said: “For me Apartment C is about hanging out in a cool apartment in your knickers, drinking Hendrick’s Gin out of a tea cup and reading The Last Tango in Paris out loud! It’s a mix of decadence, retro chic and surprise”.
Set in a black and gold backdrop of Art Deco and 1960s furniture, discover a mix of whimsical lace lingerie, silk loungewear and hot new exclusive labels – as well as range of Parisian perfumes, costume jewellery, hand-picked vintage novels and fashion books. Hidden at the back in the library, customers can enjoy a gin and tonic from an original 1930’s cocktail cabinet.
The interior of the store is as exciting as the stock.
Apartment C, 70 Marylebone High Street, London W1
Exclusive and new lingerie labels include American labels, The Lake and Stars and VPL. From Europe, Apartment C will be featuring innovative Dutch label Marlies Dekkers, launching Wundervoll label from Berlin, and the French lacy loungewear label Elise Aucoutourier. UK highlights range from Made by Nikki, Alöe to Eco Boudoir. Also on sale are key pieces from Princess Tam Tam and Damaris. The store is organised into two separate rooms, The Lounge and The Library. Customers enter into the Lounge, where a range of pretty printed lingerie and hand-crafted bras are displayed under vintage chandeliers, set against black walls. The range of Parisian perfumes & body products can be found in an original Louis XV wardrobe.
Fancy a laid back experience Gin and Tonic in a 1930′s original bar while you peruse the books and underwear? Sounds cool to me.

In bright spring sunshine at London Fashion week I walked around snapping the most stylish fashionistas. Here is Pixie Geldof and friend. London has some of the best street fashion in the world and is routinely visited by all the International designers for inspiration and ideas.
In cape and bright green these friends exhibit that essential quirky trait of stylish Londoners.

In an ocean of black with grey skies this collection was a welcome change. Rich autumn golds, browns, oranges and cobalt blue hues abounded. Peacock feathers, shimmering peacock metallic prints, Cossack style boots and belts added to the sense of drama.

Wonderful tortoise shell gold and brown coats, worn with brown opaques and gold shoes were stunning, fun and stylish.

Styles featured nipped in waists with tassled belts to emphasize the desirable hip to waist ratio. Aubergine belts over brown, creams and gold bold prints looked amazing. Shoulders were broad but not unflatteringly so.

This wonderful Ottoman Empire inspired cape combined with cobalt Grecian draped dress was startlingly elegant and refreshingly different.

Whenever I see my Hello Kitty toaster or my Hello Kitty jewellry or even my Hello Kitty Visa I get a sense of girly delight which I can’t explain. So you can understand my excitement when I heard about the hello kitty make up a while ago on WWD. I’ve just got my hands on the collection myself, and I think it’s adorable.
Now mind you my makeup look has always been filled with bubblegum pinks and vivid blues so this collection would have been perfect for me when I was fifteen but now I enjoy a more polished look . Yet I’ve chosen some products to feature below which can be incorporated into any makeup bag seamlessly. Adding a little Kitty Power never hurt.
I love the lipstick shade, Most Popular, and I plan to stock up on it because it is THE perfect berry color which looks amazing on an olive complexion. I like to first prime my lips with Laura Geller Lip Spackle and then line with with MAC lip liner in “Subculture” a nude that covers all pigmentation on lips and then top it off with the Hello Kitty for MAC lipstick and sometimes a bit of Vincent Longo gloss to add an extra kick.
I was surprised by how well these glitter-liner’s worked. I’m used to watery glitter-liners that barely deposit any glitter but the Hello Kitty for MAC glitter-liners are fantastic and a definite must have for any party look. I’d recommend lining the lower lash line with these liners rather than the top for more visability. My favourite colours are as featured, Her Glitz (gold) and Kitty Power (pink). At London Fashion Week Emerging Designer Exhibition, I met Beate Kubitz wearing this superb Cerise pink creation. I was looking for outstanding and truly creative new talents. Her Autumn/Winter 09 Collection designed with colleague Nicola Sherlock was wonderful.
Made from Penine wool, alpaca and mohair these dresses are in rich jewel colours, soft, sensual and wonderfully feminine. Roses, ruching with filmy sleeves all proved an unexpected and highly creative take on knitwear. Mini Dresses with full skirts and off the shoulder neck line was another winning ensemble worn by Beate. They are fun, elegant, huggable and wearable. This is a name to remember, check out the full collection at makepiece.co.uk Well done!
