Break A Leg?
Last year heel less high heels and super high heels were brought into the world. As stock markets crashed heels rose. In boomtimes hemlines rise and in bust they fall so the theory goes. Not so this time. Killer heels inject a frisson of danger.
The fear of falling over as soon as you stand in these outrageous shoes caused people to not want to wear them. Now everyone is reaching new heights in the dangerous yet sexy sky high heels. The new heels can reach up to seven inches high, compared to the four inch heels that used to be considered ultimate silhouette heel height, these heels are very hazardous.
Walking is now made more difficult, women are literally teetering on the brink. Gabrielle Teare Personal Stylist was told in Harvey Nicks “what you need is a man to hold onto”. Quite. All the time? Are we now reverting to the Chinese hobbled by shoe model? This is hardly progress.
Models are even having a hard time walking in these shoes. As many catwalk falls attest. So is all the pain and hard work worth an extra seven inches added to your height?

It is even more dangerous when the shoe doesn’t fit you in a show, they can also be rather slick.
I personally like the higher heels- but there is a limit to where it doesn’t even look sexy anymore. Too much is too much- there must be a balance.
